Justice Minister Conducts Comprehensive Inspection of Dhamar and Al-Bayda Judicial and Correctional Facilities

Dhamar: Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Judge Mujahid Ahmed, conducted an in-depth inspection of the Appeals Court and Prosecution Office in Dhamar Governorate, alongside evaluating the conditions at central correctional facilities in Dhamar and Al-Bayda.

According to Yemen News Agency, during a meeting with Judge Mujahid Al-Amadi and Judge Inan Shaye', and attended by Major General Ismail Al-Moayyed, Chairman of the Rehabilitation and Correction Authority, the Minister reviewed ongoing judicial performance, progress in pending cases, case handling mechanisms, and the challenges confronting the judicial system.

Minister Ahmed emphasized that the visit aimed to enhance judicial performance, accelerate case resolutions, address court and prosecution needs, and monitor prison conditions. He highlighted the commitment of the revolutionary leadership, the Supreme Political Council, and the Ministry of Justice to bolster judicial efficiency, improve prison conditions, expedite case processing, and alleviate overcrowding.

The Minister expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Dhamar Appeals Court and Prosecution in delivering swift and fair justice. Following the visit, he, along with Major General Al-Moayyed, honored Dhamar Governor Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti for his notable support of the judiciary and his dedication to correctional facilities and inmate welfare.

While inspecting the central prison in Dhamar, the Minister and Major General Al-Moayyed received a briefing from the prison director, Lt. Col. Mohammed Al-Gharbani, regarding inmate care, overcrowding challenges, and urgent facility needs. They also assessed the surveillance system aimed at enhancing security and inaugurated the distribution of new beds for prison wards.

The Minister directed rapid action to secure funding for expanding the second floor of the reception section to improve prison conditions and reduce congestion. Their inspection extended to the central prison in Rada'a, Al-Bayda Governorate, where they evaluated sections, wards, and the need for electronic surveillance systems and infrastructure enhancements.

The visit also witnessed the inauguration of the Martyr Leader Training and Rehabilitation Center for inmates, launching its first training program for 33 prisoners focused on awareness, rehabilitation, and education. Minister Ahmed lauded the efforts of the Authority's leadership and prison officials in promoting educational, cultural, and training programs to rehabilitate inmates, safeguard their rights and dignity, and foster personal development.
