Justice Ministry Concludes Training Course on Preparing Court Judgment Summaries

Sanaa: The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights concluded on Wednesday a training course on skills for preparing summaries of judicial rulings.

According to Yemen News Agency, the five-day course aimed to equip 30 court secretaries from the courts of the Capital Secretariat with knowledge and skills related to preparing judicial judgment summaries, ensuring accuracy of drafting, proper documentation, and faster completion of work.

At the closing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Judge Ibrahim Al-Shami, affirmed that the ministry is proceeding with a clear development-oriented vision that places training and qualification as a central priority in its 1447 AH plan, considering them essential pillars for strengthening institutional performance in courts, improving the quality of judicial work, and enhancing justice services provided to citizens.

He explained that this course comes within the ministry's efforts to raise the efficiency of administrative staff supporting the judiciary, particularly court secretaries, given their crucial role in the smooth conduct of judicial procedures, the accuracy of transactions, and the quality of outputs related to rulings.

Al-Shami highlighted the importance of this course in focusing on electronic training and enabling participants to acquire skills in preparing judicial judgment summaries in accordance with approved legal procedures, ensuring sound drafting, precise documentation, and speed of completion. This, he noted, contributes to accelerating the adjudication of cases and reducing litigation periods, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of the judicial system.

He also pointed to the importance of the training material and its integrated theoretical and practical components, which included the general framework and plan of the course, relevant legal texts, concepts and terminology, as well as general and specific rules governing judgment summarization. It also covered the practical steps for preparing judgment summaries, from preparatory stages to implementation procedures, enhancing performance efficiency and ensuring discipline and accuracy in judicial work.

For his part, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Judge Ahmed Al-Kahlani, stressed the importance of such courses in strengthening administrative efficiency in courts, unifying procedures, improving accuracy and discipline in drafting judgment summaries, reflecting a positive image of the judiciary's performance and enhancing confidence in the justice system.

At the closing ceremony, attended by the President of the Tax and Customs Court in the Capital Secretariat, Judge Muin Al-Aziri, Director General of Training and Qualification at the ministry, Mohammed Al-Shammari, explained that this course is part of the ministry's plan to develop and qualify court staff, ensuring improved administrative and legal performance.

He noted that the training program focused on both traditional and electronic practical aspects, along with the practical skills needed by court secretaries in preparing judgment summaries according to legal and procedural rules.

At the conclusion of the event, certificates of appreciation were distributed to the trainers, and participation certificates were awarded to the trainees.
