Launch of Campaign to Clean Watercourses, Flood Pathways in Ibb Governorate Center

Sanaa: The Governor of Ibb, Abdulwahid Salah, launched today a campaign to clean watercourses and flood pathways in the districts of the governorate center as part of preparations for the rainy season and welcoming the blessed month of Ramadan.

According to Yemen News Agency, the campaign, implemented by the Cleaning and Improvement Fund over three days, aims to remove waste from watercourses and open culverts and flood drainage channels with community participation.

During the launch, Governor Salah explained that the campaign comes in implementation of the directives of the revolutionary and political leadership and the local authority's interest in improving basic services for citizens and preserving the civilized appearance of Ibb city and its districts.

He emphasized the importance of the campaign in preserving the environment and public health and preparing the atmosphere for the holy month, pointing out that adherence to cleanliness stems from the teachings of the Islamic religion and the faith identity.

The Governor of Ibb called for broad participation in the cleaning campaign, which includes streets, neighborhoods, and public places, affirming the governorate leadership's support for all the Fund's efforts and facilitating its difficulties.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Cleaning and Improvement Fund in the governorate, Adel Omar, explained that the campaign targeted on its first day the removal of waste and dust from the University watercourse in front of the sports stadium, opening culverts near Salah al-Din School, and Taiz Street in Dhihar and Mishnah districts.

He pointed out that all available equipment and capabilities have been harnessed to carry out the work of removing waste and dust from the watercourses.

For his part, the Deputy Director of the Cleaning Fund, Bilal Al-Bukhaiti, affirmed that the campaign is accompanied by the implementation of an awareness program about the importance of adhering to cleanliness and not throwing waste into flood channels.
