Launch of Contract Farming Project and Seed Distribution to Farmers in Bajil, Al-Hodeidah

Bajil: The Multipurpose Agricultural Cooperative Association in Bajil District, Al-Hodeidah Governorate, today launched the Contract Farming Project and distributed seeds to farmers as part of the plan to expand agricultural value chains for the year 1447 AH.

According to Yemen News Agency, the inauguration, organized in coordination with the local council, the mobilization authority, the Agricultural Cooperative Union, the Grain Corporation, the Tihama Development Authority, and Bonyan Development Foundation, highlighted the project's role in supporting farmers and boosting the agricultural sector to help reduce import costs, achieve food security, and move toward self-sufficiency.

Director of Bajil District, Abdul-Munim Al-Rifa'i, stressed the importance of the initiative in strengthening farmers' production capacity and reaffirmed the local council's commitment to facilitating agricultural projects, especially those that directly enhance crop yields. He also underscored the need for coordination to ensure the success of this project, which represents a vital contributor to the local economy.

For his part, the Association's Executive Director, Hussein Dhiabi, explained that the contract farming project aims to provide farmers with improved seeds. The distribution includes maize, millet, sorghum, and sesame seeds.
