Launch of Pink October Campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness in Ibb

Ibb: The Ibb branch of the National Cancer Control Foundation, in partnership with Al-Manar Hospital, launched on Wednesday the activities of the Pink October Campaign for breast cancer awareness, which will continue throughout the month.

According to Yemen News Agency, during the launch, the Governor's Deputy for Health Affairs, Dr. Ashraf Al-Mutawakil, emphasized the importance of integrating official efforts with community initiatives to support cancer patients, describing them as a segment of society that deserves the solidarity of all well-wishers. He praised the efforts of the Cancer Control Foundation branch and its provision of medical and therapeutic services to patients, as well as its implementation of awareness programs, seminars, and lectures.

Dr. Jamal Al-Shami, Director of Al-Manar Hospital, highlighted the need to raise women's awareness about the importance of early detection, noting that it helps reduce the economic and psychological burdens of the disease and significantly increases the chances of recovery.

Meanwhile, Baleegh Al-Taweel, Director of the Ibb branch of the National Cancer Control Foundation, reviewed the challenges faced by cancer patients in the governorate, noting that the number of cases is rising, with more than a thousand women diagnosed with breast cancer. He called on businesspeople and all segments of society to support the Foundation's activities and stand by patients to alleviate their suffering.

The Director of the Cancer Control Foundation branch also expressed his appreciation to all supporting and contributing entities for their role in achieving the campaign's objectives to serve the community.
