Le Pen Slams EU-US Trade Deal as Total Failure

Paris: French far-right leader Marine Le Pen has described the newly signed EU-US trade agreement as a political, economic, and moral failure for the European Union. According to Yemen News Agency, under the July 27 deal, brokered by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and U.S. President Donald Trump, nearly all EU exports to the United States will face a 15% tariff. The EU also committed to purchasing American liquefied gas, nuclear fuel, and weaponry. Le Pen criticized the agreement for its unequal terms, claiming it was less favorable than Britain's recent trade pact with Washington, and likened it to surrendering key French industries. She also condemned the silence of several EU member states and warned that the bloc was compromising its sovereignty. Von der Leyen stated negotiations would continue, though countermeasures are ready if talks fail by August 1.
