Sana'a: A meeting held in Sana'a, chaired by Acting Minister of Economy, Industry, and Investment Sam Al-Bashiri, discussed the conditions of malls and commercial centers. The discussion focused on identifying challenges within the sector and exploring opportunities to enhance commercial activities in the region.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was attended by key figures such as the Ministry's Undersecretary for Policies, Studies, and Economic Planning Fouad Al-Junaid, Vice Chairman of the Capital Secretariat's Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mohammad Salah, and representatives from various malls and commercial centers in the Capital Secretariat and Sana'a Governorate. The participants examined the hurdles faced by the sector and considered strategies to strengthen the commercial activity.

The Acting Minister emphasized the importance of addressing issues that affect malls and commercial centers to ensure a stable supply and provide consumers with quality options at reasonable prices. He insisted that any price increases should be approved by the Ministry's Department of Domestic Trade and Consumer Protection only after a thorough review of the reasons provided by producers or importers.

Al-Bashiri also stressed the need for credible and tangible commercial offers and discounts. He advocated for providing space for local products, family-run businesses, and small producers to support the local industry and promote growth at all levels. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of removing boycotted goods, aligning with religious and ethical commitments, and warned against marketing products with unethical content.

The meeting concluded with the approval of creating a matrix to address the challenges facing malls and commercial centers. This matrix will be submitted to the Ministry's Policies, Studies, and Economic Planning Department and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with a focus on joint efforts to propose solutions.
