Meeting in Sana’a Discusses Role of Technical, Vocational Institutes in Summer Programs

Sana'a: A meeting in Sana'a on Wednesday discussed technical and vocational activities within the framework of summer programs and activities. The meeting, which included the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth for the Youth Sector and Head of the Technical Committee for Summer Activities and Programs, Abdullah Al-Razihi, and the Undersecretary of the Secondary Education Sector at the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Zaid Al-Hadour, addressed the role of technical and vocational institutes in contributing to summer programs and the activities that institute staff can offer to summer school students.

According to Yemen News Agency, this initiative aims to enhance students' vocational awareness and familiarize them with the importance of technical and vocational specializations and the needs of the labor market. The attendees reviewed the mechanism for preparing a guide for career awareness and guidance in technical and vocational specializations. This guide will serve as a reference for summer school students and will help them learn about the specializations available at technical and vocational institutes and the opportunities for enrollment.

The meeting, attended by the directors of the Youth Training and Development Center, Dr. Ali al-Ma'naqi; the Educational Coordination and Summer Activities Department at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ahmed al-Salawi; the office of the Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ahmed Sand; and the head of the Al-Qa'idah Al-Yamaniyah Education Department in the capital, Amat al-Aleem al-Dailami, concluded with several recommendations. The most prominent recommendation was to task the deans of technical and vocational institutes with visiting summer schools to explain the career guidance and awareness guide.

The meeting also urged summer school students to enroll in vocational institutes, emphasizing their importance in preparing qualified technical personnel and serving the needs of development.
