Hodeidah: The Office of the General Authority for Endowments and Guidance, along with the Scholars and Learners Unit in Hodeidah Governorate, organized an expanded meeting at Al-Quds Mosque in the city district, bringing together scholars, preachers, tribal figures, and academic, cultural, and educational elites.
According to Yemen News Agency, the gathering came in response to the call of the Revolution Leader, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and as a declaration of readiness and general mobilization. The meeting, attended by Governor Abdullah Atefi, First Deputy Governor Ahmed Al-Bishri, and deputy governors Ali Qishr and Ali Kabari, focused on discussing mechanisms to activate the role of religious platforms and education in strengthening society, directing efforts toward rejecting the repeated insults against the Holy Quran, and mobilizing support to protect the nation's sanctities and principles.
During the meeting, President of Dar Al-Uloom Al-Sharia University and Mufti of Hodeidah, Sheikh Mohammed Mar'i, stressed the magnitude of the responsibility borne by scholars in guiding the nation toward adherence to the Holy Quran as the source of dignity, honor, and pride. He noted that the integration of efforts among religious, academic, and cultural elites constitutes an impregnable barrier against all schemes and conspiracies aimed at distorting Islam and targeting Islamic symbols and sanctities.
The Mufti of Hodeidah highlighted the importance of adopting serious and firm practical positions that reflect the devotion of the Yemeni people to their religion and creed, praising the ongoing cultural and awareness activities across the governorate's districts and sectors. For his part, Director of the Guidance Sector in the governorate, Abdulrahman Al-Warafi, stated that platforms of awareness and guidance would continue to serve as a powerful voice in defense of the Book of Allah and its sanctities, and as a key foundation for consolidating awareness and full readiness among all segments of society.
He explained that the current phase requires intensified guidance and educational efforts to strengthen the connection of younger generations with the Holy Quran, to instill the values of struggle and steadfastness in defense of the sanctities of the Islamic nation. Meanwhile, Head of the Scholars and Learners Unit, Sheikh Ali Soumal, discussed the pivotal role of religious and educational institutions in declaring general mobilization and supporting the fronts of awareness through truthful words and courageous stances in confronting tyranny.
He called for the continuation and expansion of intellectual activities, cultural seminars, and forums aimed at refuting destructive and misleading ideas spread by forces hostile to Islam and Muslims in an attempt to undermine the faith-based identity. Sheikh Saleh Al-Atmi also urged the strengthening of determination, deepening the values of solidarity, compassion, and attachment to the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad, in fulfillment of religious, moral duties and in implementation of the directives of the revolutionary leadership.
He emphasized the importance of unifying societal positions and raising awareness of the dangers posed by campaigns targeting the Holy Quran and Islamic sanctities, stressing the need for continued public and official support for the causes of the nation and its steadfast positions. At the conclusion of the meeting, a statement was issued in which participants strongly condemned all systematic hostile practices and blatant violations targeting the Book of Allah and Islamic sanctities, foremost among them the ongoing desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Zionist enemy entity.
The statement presented a practical vision to confront these repeated attacks by calling on Muslim peoples everywhere to activate the weapon of economic boycott against American, Israeli goods, products, to expand marches, mass demonstrations in support of Islamic sanctities and in defense of Islam. It praised the broad official and popular positions reflecting the nation's attachment to the Book of Allah and its rejection of all forms of attacks against its sanctities, considering the campaigns insulting the Holy Quran as an extension of hostility aimed at the nation's identity, values, and religious principles.
The statement also called on scholars, preachers, intellectuals, and media outlets to assume their responsibilities in strengthening societal awareness, exposing the dangers of hostile intellectual, cultural campaigns, and expanding public interaction in support of Islamic sanctities and the causes of the nation. It further affirmed the continued steadfast support of the Yemeni people for the Palestinian people and their just cause, as well as support for the resilience of the Lebanese people, stressing the importance of Islamic unity and enhanced public and official mobilization to confront challenges targeting the nation and its sanctities.
