Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expects continued heavy rains and thunderstorms across several governorates over the next 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center's weather bulletin indicates that rain of varying intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms and occasional hail, is likely to affect the highlands of the governorates of Lahj, Taiz, Ibb, Abyan, Dhale'a, Bayda, Dhamar, Raymah, Sana'a, Amran, Mahwit, Hajjah, and Saada.
Rainfall is also expected to cover the Tihama Plain, the western, southern, and eastern coasts, the adjacent inland highlands, parts of the Socotra Archipelago, and the deserts and plateaus of the governorates of Mahrah, Hadramaut, Shabwah, Marib, and Jawf.
Yesterday, thunderstorms of varying intensity led to flash floods in the highlands, coastal areas, the Tihama Plain, and parts of the interior plateaus and deserts.
The center has issued warnings to citizens regarding the dangers associated with thunderstorms, advising against crossing or venturing into floodwaters during and after rainfall. Additional warnings include risks of soil erosion, rockfalls, strong downdrafts, hail, and reduced horizontal visibility on roads and mountain slopes.
It advised citizens to take the necessary preventive measures and avoid unstable slopes.
