General

Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has issued a warning to fishermen and ship captains regarding adverse weather conditions, including rough seas and high waves, in the vicinity of the Socotra Archipelago and eastern territorial waters. The center's alert comes as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of those navigating these areas.

According to Yemen News Agency, the center's weather bulletin highlighted that satellite images, weather maps, and data from regional tropical cyclone centers have confirmed the development of a low-pressure area into a depression. This depression is currently centered at coordinates 67.6 degrees east and 8.6 degrees north, with its edges positioned approximately 550 km from the Socotra Archipelago Governorate.

The forecast indicates that the sky is expected to be overcast, with a likelihood of moderate to heavy rainfall. Additionally, winds may reach maximum speeds of 30 knots, significantly reducing visibility. The sea conditions are anticipated to be rough to very rough, with wave heights ranging from 2.5 to 4 meters, posing potential hazards for maritime activities.
