Al-mahwit: Deputy Minister of Agriculture's Livestock Sector Dr. Abdulraouf Al-Shawkani and Al-Mahwit University President Dr. Mohammed Al-Shalabi inspected the ongoing rehabilitation and equipment works at the university's Faculty of Agriculture, as preparations continue for its official opening and the admission of the first group of students.
According to Yemen News Agency, accompanied by university and ministry officials, the delegation toured the faculty's departments and facilities, reviewing progress on building rehabilitation, classrooms, laboratories, student housing, and support services. They were briefed on implementation stages, completion rates, and the timetable for finalizing the project in line with academic standards.
Dr. Al-Shawkani praised the progress achieved, stressing that the new faculty will strengthen the agricultural and livestock sectors by producing qualified specialists capable of supporting agricultural development and sustainable growth.
He described the faculty as a promising academic and development project that will help prepare skilled professionals, promote applied scientific research, and meet the needs of the agricultural sector. He also reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to expanding cooperation with Al-Mahwit University in training, research, and knowledge exchange to improve agricultural education and align its outcomes with labor market needs.
For his part, Dr. Al-Shalabi said the rehabilitation and equipment works are progressing on schedule to ensure the faculty is ready to begin academic activities. He affirmed the university's commitment to providing a modern educational and research environment equipped with advanced laboratories and teaching facilities to prepare graduates with the practical skills needed to serve the agricultural sector and local development.
