Sana'a: Parliament Speaker Yahya al-Ra'i chaired part of a meeting of the Labor and Social Affairs Committee to review the committee's ongoing work and discussions with government authorities. The meeting was attended by Minister of Civil Service and Administrative Development Dr. Khaled al-Hawali, along with the ministry's Deputy Ministers for Evaluation, Ezzi Al-Hattami, and Public Service Affairs, Ali al-Kebsi.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the session, the Speaker was briefed by the committee's chairman and members on the outcomes of their recent meetings with the government side and the progress achieved in the committee's activities. Al-Ra'i reaffirmed the importance of maintaining the independence of special funds, noting that several of these entities have achieved success through carrying out the duties assigned to them under their respective founding laws. He also expressed his hopes that parliamentary committees would succeed in completing the tasks referred to them and submit reports outlining their findings and recommendations.
Meanwhile, the committee continued its meeting under the chairmanship of Committee Head Azzam Salah to discuss government measures related to the merger of certain special funds, public institutions, and government agencies, as well as issues linked to restructuring processes. The committee approved assigning the Minister of Civil Service and Administrative Development to provide written responses regarding the discussed matters. The meeting was attended by several specialists from relevant entities, and the committee affirmed it would continue its work to finalize discussions on the referred topics.
