President Al-Mashat Calls for End to Saudi Aggression and Siege on Yemen

Sanaa:His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council, has declared Yemen's intention to end the ongoing aggression and siege imposed by Saudi Arabia, using all available means. In a recent message to the Yemeni people and the Islamic Ummah, President Al-Mashat emphasized the need to address humanitarian issues, repair damages inflicted on Yemen, and uphold the nation's sovereignty and independence in line with international principles.

According to Yemen News Agency, President Al-Mashat expressed his openness to fair and just efforts aimed at ending the Saudi-led siege and aggression, which began on March 26, 2015. He highlighted the significant humanitarian toll on Yemen, noting the loss of tens of thousands of innocent lives and the creation of what the United Nations has described as the largest humanitarian crisis in the world.

President Al-Mashat reaffirmed Yemen's commitment to peaceful negotiations and highlighted past efforts, including the 2022 de-escalation understandings with Saudi Arabia, which were ultimately violated by the latter. He criticized the Saudi regime for its continued military mobilization and recent escalation, including bombings that further entrenched the suffering of millions of Yemenis.

The President called for international condemnation of the Saudi regime's actions, including its transformation of Bab al-Mandab into a war zone, and urged Islamic unity against common threats. He reiterated Yemen's support for the Palestinian people and called for the formation of an Islamic alliance to address regional challenges.

President Al-Mashat concluded by expressing confidence in Yemen's ability to secure its rights and warned against any further attacks on holy sites, asserting that Yemen's commitment to defending its sovereignty remains steadfast.
