According to Yemen News Agency, in a condolence cable sent to the late media figure's family, President al-Mashat highlighted al-Asri's distinguished career in both media and sports. He commended al-Asri's legacy as a broadcaster and producer of sports programs, noting that he was among the most prominent commentators in Yemen and the wider region.
The president emphasized that al-Asri left a lasting mark on the history of sports media through his professionalism and dedication over many years. He described al-Asri's passing as a significant loss to the nation and to the media and sports communities, which have lost one of their pioneering figures.
President al-Mashat concluded by expressing his heartfelt condolences to the family, colleagues, and admirers of the deceased, praying that he be granted mercy and that his loved ones are given patience and comfort.
