Sana'a: The Prime Minister's Office hosted a commemorative event marking the first anniversary of the martyrdom of Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi, the head of the Change and Construction Government, and his fellow ministers, who were killed by Israeli and US forces during the 'Promised Victory and Holy Jihad' battle on August 28, 2025.
According to Yemen News Agency, Speaker of the House of Representatives Yahya Ali Al-Ra'i emphasized the importance of national unity in addressing the challenges facing Yemen. He underscored the need to support the families of the martyrs and to focus on the needs of people in occupied provinces. Al-Ra'i called for adherence to the directives of Revolution Leader Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr Al-Din Al-Houthi, particularly in supporting industrial and commercial sectors under siege. He also highlighted the need for stable financial policies to enable the private sector to operate effectively.
Al-Ra'i praised national investors for their resilience amidst aggression and blockades, acknowledging their contributions to food security and essential commodities. He called for stronger public and private sector partnerships to bolster the national economy and emphasized the importance of an attractive investment environment for sustainable economic growth.
Acting Prime Minister Mohammed Miftah paid tribute to the martyrs and reaffirmed Yemen's commitment to a comprehensive transformation. He highlighted the sacrifices made by Yemeni leaders and citizens in the face of aggression and emphasized the ongoing efforts to rebuild and develop the nation despite limited resources and external challenges.
Miftah outlined plans for social and economic projects aimed at reducing poverty and empowering citizens, emphasizing the importance of localizing production in key sectors. He reiterated the government's commitment to breaking the blockade and achieving a broader transformation on intellectual, political, and strategic levels.
Ashraf Ahmed Al-Rahwi, speaking on behalf of the martyrs' families, expressed pride in the leaders' sacrifices and criticized the inaction of other Arab and Islamic governments. He confirmed Yemen's commitment to resistance and the continued pursuit of the martyrs' goals.
