Rhetorical Events in Ibb Governorate Commemorate Ashura and Martyrdom of Imam Hussein

Sana'a: Rhetorical events were held on Wednesday in Ibb Governorate across the districts of Yarim, Habish, and Al-Radmah, as well as in the security departments of Yarim and Rural Ibb districts, marking the anniversary of Ashura and the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), under the slogan: 'How far we are from humiliation.'

According to Yemen News Agency, the events were attended by local authority leaders, general mobilization officials, and social figures. They featured speeches emphasizing the importance of commemorating this occasion as a faith-based and cultural milestone for drawing lessons and insights from the revolution of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and for embodying the meanings of steadfastness and resilience in the face of injustice and tyranny.

The speeches reviewed aspects of the life of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and his status in the Islamic nation, as well as the values embodied by his uprising in terms of freedom, dignity, honor, and sacrifice in order to uphold the word of truth and reform the condition of the nation.

Speakers affirmed that the event of Karbala will remain an enduring school of sacrifice, devotion, and steadfastness in principles, serving as a renewed source of inspiration for responsibility and awareness in confronting challenges that target the nation, its identity, and its values.

They pointed out that the approach of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) was based on consolidating the values of justice, benevolence, enjoining good and forbidding evil, and calling for adherence to the path of Allah Almighty and following the example of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) and his household.

The speakers explained that Imam Hussein's uprising came as a rejection of the deviation that had affected the nation at that time, and out of a desire to correct its course and revive the authentic Islamic principles and values brought by the Messenger of God (peace be upon him and his family).

They noted that Imam Hussein's revolution was not a passing historical event, but rather a comprehensive reform project that establishes the values of truth, justice, and freedom, affirming the responsibility of the nation to confront injustice and deviation across different eras.

The speeches emphasized that commemorating Ashura contributes to enhancing societal awareness, protecting younger generations from foreign ideas and cultural influences, and strengthening adherence to identity and moral values that have consistently been a source of strength and resilience for the Yemeni people.
