Sa'ada: Sa'ada Governor Mohammed Awad, along with Judge Hussein al-Kabsi, the head of the Medical Council's field committee, has inaugurated the registration process for obtaining and renewing medical and health profession licenses, including reclassification.

According to Yemen News Agency, Governor Awad emphasized that this initiative aligns with the directives of the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, aiming to streamline procedures within various state institutions. He urged medical and health personnel to promptly submit their applications to the committee at the Higher Institute of Health Sciences to rectify their professional status.

Judge al-Kabsi, the Medical Council's legal advisor, noted that the initiative seeks to reach a broad segment of health sector workers across the governorates. This effort is intended to alleviate the need for personnel to travel to the capital, Sana'a, to obtain necessary documents, especially given current challenges, while ensuring the continued provision of health services.

He highlighted that field visits would help reduce the burdens on health personnel, regulate medical practices, and protect the health professions from unqualified individuals. Additionally, the initiative aims to enhance healthcare quality across various governorates. The committees are following a structured mechanism to ensure efficient and accurate transactions, thereby raising professional awareness about registration and qualification procedures for competency exams.

Dr. Yahya Shaim, Director General of the Health Office in the governorate, encouraged all medical and health personnel in both public and private sectors to visit the committee headquarters promptly to complete the licensing or renewal procedures. He warned of potential legal repercussions, as inspection campaigns will commence following the registration period.

Dr. Shaim praised the Medical Council's efforts and expressed hope that competency exams for obtaining licenses for health personnel from Sa'ada Governorate would soon be conducted locally, similar to the practices in Ibb, Hodeidah, and Hajjah governorates.

The inauguration event was also attended by Dr. Khaled Al-Farah, Deputy Director of the Health Office in the governorate, Dr. Zakaria Al-Hadi, Director of the Higher Institute of Health Sciences, representatives of medical syndicates, and numerous health personnel.
