Sana'a: Governor of Sana'a, Abdulbaset al-Hadi, alongside Secretary-General of the Local Council Abdulqader al-Jailani, has inaugurated the distribution of office furniture and equipment to the agricultural sector within the governorate, its district branches, and agricultural development cooperative associations. This initiative, valued at 14 million Yemeni riyals, is funded by the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit in the governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, the launch was attended by Chairman of the Social Affairs Committee in the Local Council, Ali Al-Suhaili, and Deputy Governor Atef Al-Musalli. Governor Al-Hadi highlighted that the support for the agricultural sector and cooperative associations is in line with directives from Revolution Leader Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr Al-Din Al-Houthi and the President of the Supreme Political Council. The aim is to revitalize the agricultural sector.
Governor Al-Hadi reiterated the local authority's dedication to assisting agriculture in the governorate and its districts. He encouraged agricultural activities by empowering cooperative associations and expanding their engagement with sustainable development programs. He also emphasized the importance of training agricultural personnel and cooperative association members to enable them to fulfill their developmental roles in this essential sector.
He urged stakeholders to maximize the use of the delivered equipment to improve performance and meet the goals set by the revolutionary and political leadership. Al-Hadi highlighted the necessity for coordination between agricultural branches in the districts and cooperative associations, advocating for increased efforts in implementing the agricultural expansion project and ensuring precise data collection from farmers.
Engineer Ali Al-Qairi, Head of the Agricultural Sector in the governorate, described the distribution as a significant step towards enhancing the performance of agricultural offices and cooperative associations across the districts. He noted that the distributed equipment includes 27 computers with modern printers, glass cabinets, wooden desks, swivel chairs, and hospitality items.
Al-Qairi added that the initiative demonstrates the commitment of the Ministry's leadership and the local authority to advancing developmental momentum in the governorate, especially in training and building the capacities of agricultural sector staff and cooperative development associations.
