Sana'a: The Shura Council affirmed the full and legitimate right of the Republic of Yemen to deliver a decisive response to the reckless acts of the Saudi aggression coalition.
According to Yemen News Agency, in a statement issued today, the Council warned of the catastrophic consequences of the serious Saudi escalation that targeted Sana'a International Airport shortly before the arrival of the Yemeni delegation's plane returning from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Council condemned in the strongest terms this targeting of a vital civilian facility, which represents an attempt to threaten the safety of civil aviation, the lives of the delegation, and the passengers on board, including patients and those stranded abroad. It affirmed that this constitutes a war crime and a violation of all international and humanitarian laws and conventions that guarantee the protection of civilian objects and freedom of movement, in addition to what this act represents as a violation of international treaties and conventions ensuring the security of official delegations' movement.
The statement noted that the Saudi aggression coalition has not been satisfied with the siege and aggression it has perpetrated over the past ten years, nor has it learned or drawn lessons from the patience of the Yemeni people, driven by its actions towards new pitfalls that will cost it dearly.
The Shura Council stressed that this escalation by the Saudi aggression has officially ended the phase of de-escalation, and that the Saudi regime must bear all the consequences and repercussions of its continued recklessness, aggression, and siege.
The Council reaffirmed its support for all strategic options and steps to be taken by the revolutionary and political leadership and the armed forces, in response to the legitimate demands and aspirations of the Yemeni people to break the siege, end the aggression, and defend the nation's sovereignty and independence.
The Council called on the United Nations, the UN Security Council, and organizations concerned with civil aviation to break the silence, immediately condemn this crime, and hold its perpetrators accountable as war criminals.
