Sana'a: A series of airstrikes and artillery shellings by the US-Saudi-Emirati coalition have left a trail of casualties and destruction across several governorates in Yemen on June 16 over multiple years. The attacks have significantly impacted civilian lives, infrastructure, and properties. According to Yemen News Agency, on June 16, 2015, airstrikes targeted Arwa Girls School and nearby homes in Taiz Governorate, resulting in the deaths of four women and a child from one family. The strikes destroyed the school and a house, and damaged neighboring homes. Other areas, including Al-Majliyah, Al-Hawban, and various locations in Al-Jawf and Saada Governorates, also faced severe damages due to air raids, with several homes and a commercial center being destroyed. The following years saw continued aggression. In 2016, strategic locations like Hailan Mountain in Marib Governorate were targeted, and citizens' homes and farms were shelled. In 2017, airstrikes in Mocha District claimed the life of a citizen and in jured five others, while areas in Saada and Al-Hodeida faced extensive damages from raids and shelling. By June 16, 2018, airstrikes on Sahar District in Saada Governorate resulted in the martyrdom of a migrant, and targeted attacks on Al-And area caused injuries and property damage. The pattern of aggression continued, with 2019 seeing the deaths of three children and a woman in Hajjah Governorate due to airstrikes. The attacks also caused significant property damage in Saada and Sana'a Governorates. On June 16, 2020, airstrikes impacted telecommunication services in Amran Governorate, leading to a complete interruption of services in five districts. The year also saw multiple raids across various governorates, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the region. The aggression on June 16, 2021, resulted in injuries and property damage across several districts, with populated areas being heavily bombarded. In 2022, the construction of combat fortifications by mercenaries in Al-Hodeida and artillery shelling in Marib, Hajjah, and other governorates further intensified the conflict. Most recently, on June 16, 2023, reconnaissance aircraft launched raids in Al-Hodeida, while mercenaries established combat fortifications and shelled several areas, continuing the cycle of violence and destruction.
