Sanaa: The Supreme Authority for Drugs and Medical Supplies organized a protest sit-in on Wednesday in support of the Holy Quran and Al-Aqsa Mosque, reaffirming steadfast solidarity with Palestine and Lebanon. Participants in the sit-in, attended by the Authority's Chairman Dr. Amin Qubas, Mobilization Official Dr. Yousif al-Hathri, staff members of the Authority, and representatives of tuberculosis, malaria, immunization, and health education programs, chanted slogans condemning the crimes of global Zionism and its agents in targeting Islam's holiest sanctities through the burning of copies of the Holy Quran and the desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque, which they described as reflecting deep-rooted hatred toward Islam and its symbols.
According to Yemen News Agency, a statement issued during the sit-in and read by Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Authority for Drugs Dr. Mohammed Al-Numi condemned the repeated offenses committed by what it described as enemies of the Islamic nation, namely the Americans and Zionists, against the Holy Quran. The statement also denounced the near-daily desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Zionists, stressing that such renewed offenses and ongoing Zionist campaigns in all forms would not be met with silence.
It called on countries around the world and the peoples of the Arab and Islamic nations to fulfill their duty by taking serious action, intensifying boycott campaigns, and organizing massive marches in cities and capitals to confront what it described as a Zionist scheme hostile to Islam, Muslims, and Islamic sanctities. The statement reaffirmed the steadfastness of the Yemeni people in their Quranic, religious, and moral support for the people of Gaza, and their commitment to the liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque and all occupied territories.
It also declared full solidarity with Hezbollah fighters in Lebanon, supporting what it described as their strong and painful operations against the 'temporary entity,' and standing with detainees held in Israeli prisons until they gain freedom. The statement praised the major success achieved by the summer courses and emphasized the importance of broad participation in supporting the Eid convoy for those stationed on the fronts of 'dignity, honor, and sacred jihad.'
