Supervisory Committee Discusses Regulation of Vehicle and Mining Chemical Imports

Hamdan: The Supervisory Committee for regulating the import of vehicles and chemicals used in mining activities held a meeting on Wednesday, chaired by Assistant Deputy Minister of Oil and Minerals for Mineral Affairs Dr. Yahya Al-A'jam: The meeting reviewed procedures and mechanisms for regulating the import of vehicles and chemicals used in mining operations to reduce environmental and health risks.

According to Yemen News Agency, participants stressed the importance of strengthening coordination among relevant authorities to ensure effective oversight of chemicals used in the mining sector and compliance with approved environmental standards.

The meeting approved several measures, including the preparation of a comprehensive inventory of imported and used mining chemicals to improve regulation, oversight, and mitigation of potential environmental impacts.

Dr. Al-A'jam emphasized the need to continue joint efforts to complete regulatory procedures aimed at protecting the environment and promoting safe and responsible mining practices.
