Training of 30 Health Workers on Resuscitation and Epidemic Response Begins in Dhamar

Dhamar: A training program on "Basics of Managing Injuries, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and Epidemic Response" began today at the Health Office in Dhamar Governorate, as part of efforts to enhance emergency preparedness.

According to Yemen News Agency, thirty trainees from various health facilities in the governorate are participating in the program. The initiative is implemented by the Health Office in cooperation with the Swiss organization Doctors Without Borders, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health and Environment, and will run from February 22 to March 2.

The Director of the Health Office in the governorate, Dr. Tariq Al-Khaywani, emphasized the importance of the program in building the capacity of health personnel in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation, combating measles, watery diarrhea including cholera, diphtheria, and infection control. He highlighted that the program aims to enhance the efficiency of medical cadres and raise the level of readiness to face emergency situations. This initiative is a fundamental pillar within the Ministry of Health's plan to improve emergency response in partnership with international organizations, ensuring the provision of medical services to citizens under challenging circumstances.

Al-Khaywani urged participants to fully utilize the knowledge and skills acquired from the program, transfer them to their colleagues in different health facilities, and raise preparedness levels for potential dangers.

Dr. Hamed Al-Faqih, the Emergency Coordinator for the Swiss Doctors Without Borders organization, emphasized the program's role in updating knowledge and information related to basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation and various epidemics, stressing the need to apply the training outcomes in practical settings. He mentioned that participants will gain knowledge and skills in emergencies, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, accidents, and updated pharmaceutical protocols.

Dr. Ali Al-Hudhaifi, the Director of Medical Activities at the organization, noted that the program is aimed at building the capacity of emergency and epidemic emergency teams, combating diseases like measles, watery diarrhea, cholera, diphtheria, and infection control. He stated that the program contributes to updating the operational capabilities of health facilities, ensuring a faster and more accurate response in the face of current health challenges.
