Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has predicted the continuation of scattered thunderstorms across several governorates in Yemen over the next 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center's weather bulletin indicates that thunderstorms of varying intensity, potentially accompanied by hail, are expected to affect the governorates of Hajjah, Al Mahwit, Dhamar, Raymah, Ibb, Taiz, Lahj, Dhale'e, Al Bayda, as well as western Sana'a, Amran, and the highlands of the Tihama plain.
Scattered rains with occasional thunder are also anticipated in parts of the governorates of Saada, Ma'rib, Al Mahrah, Socotra, and the highlands of Abyan, Shabwah, and Hadramaut. Meteorological stations recorded rainfall in Ibb at 21.9 mm, Ibb al-Saddah at 16.6 mm, Dhamar at 9.4 mm, Taiz at 7.9 mm, and both Raymah and Al Bayda at 4.2 mm over the past 24 hours.
Beyond the stations' range, varying intensities of rainfall were observed in parts of Taiz, Ad Dhale, Shabwah, Hadramaut, and the Tihama Plain highlands. The center has issued warnings to citizens about potential flash floods in valleys and ravines, advising against crossing or remaining in these areas during and after rainfall.
Additionally, the center alerted the public to the possibility of poor visibility due to rain and fog on roads and mountain slopes. It also cautioned against thunderstorms, strong downward winds, and hail, urging necessary measures to protect lives and property.
