Yemeni Scholars Address Gaza Crisis at Annual Conference in Sana’a

Sana'a: The annual Yemeni Scholars Conference convened in Sana'a, focusing on the theme "The Position of the Nation's Scholars on the War of Extermination and Starvation in Gaza and Israel's Greater Plan."

According to Yemen News Agency, the conference was organized by the Yemeni Scholars Association and brought together scholars from various Yemeni governorates and several Arab and Islamic countries. The event coincided with the anniversary of the Prophet's birth, aiming to reflect on the scholarly commitments in light of religious teachings.

During the conference, Grand Mufti of Yemen and President of the Yemeni Scholars Association, Allamah Shamsuddin Sharafuddin, highlighted the duty of scholars to speak truthfully and uphold divine revelations. He extended congratulations on the Prophet's birth anniversary, urging engagement with the occasion and emphasizing the importance of celebrating it collectively.

Allamah Sharafuddin remarked on the significance of addressing the truths concerning adversaries of Allah and Islam. He emphasized the responsibility to clarify concepts of jihad and the need for severity against enemies, citing religious texts to support his stance. He criticized scholars who remain silent on issues like the Gaza crisis, stating they deviate from the Prophet's teachings.

Sheikh Sharaf al-Din called for scholars to encourage believers to support oppressed communities and confront oppressors, specifically naming "America and Israel" as leading adversaries. He outlined the necessity of divine leadership and committed individuals like the Prophet's companions for the universality of Islam.

He praised Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi for his support of Gaza and Palestine and commended the Yemeni people's solidarity through demonstrations. Addressing scholars, he urged them to overcome sectarian differences, speak truthfully, and call for justice against oppression.

Sheikh Muhammad Allaw, a member of the Yemeni Scholars Association, stressed the need for empowerment and change. He commended Yemen's proactive stance, suggesting that if other regimes had followed suit, it would have pressured adversaries to desist from their actions in Gaza.

Sheikh Allaw praised Yemen's leadership for aligning with divine expectations and supporting Palestine, emphasizing the historical significance of Yemeni faith and wisdom. He highlighted the enduring resistance against aggression, noting the support provided to Palestinians by the Yemeni people.

Scholar Alawi urged introspection and reaffirmed Yemen's commitment to Palestine and Gaza. Sheikh Maher Hamoud from the International Union of Resistance Scholars in Lebanon praised Yemen's stance and its leader's statements supporting the oppressed.

Sheikh Maher Hamoud expressed satisfaction with Yemen's position and the collective resistance from regions like Yemen, Tehran, Lebanon, and Gaza. He lamented the deviation of many regimes but acknowledged the steadfast belief in divine victory among a committed few, including Yemen.

The conference concluded with calls for continued support and resistance, reinforcing the shared struggle against oppression and the pursuit of justice for the Palestinian people.
