38 Indebted Prisoners Released in Amran on Mawlid Anniversary

Amran: The Public Prosecution in Amran Province released 38 indebted prisoners from the Central Correctional Facility today after the General Zakat Authority paid 169 million rials in outstanding private debts owed to others, from the Gharimin (indebted persons) zakat fund, on the occasion of the Prophet's Birthday.

According to Yemen News Agency, the release was attended by several dignitaries, including Acting Minister of Economy Sam Al-Bashiri, Amran Governor Dr. Faisal Jamaan, Appeals Court Chief Judge Ahmed Sharaf Al-Din, Appeals Prosecution Chief Judge Hadi Ayda, Yemeni Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control Chairman Abdullah Al-Atifi, Public Corporation for Cement Manufacturing and Marketing Chairman Yahya Atifa, Deputy Governor Abdulaziz Abu Kharfasha, and Shura Council member Ali Ashish.

Secretary-General of the Amran Local Council Saleh Al-Makhlous stated that commemorating the Prophet's Birthday extends to humanitarian initiatives that embody the values of compassion, charity, and solidarity taught by the Prophet Muhammad. He emphasized that assisting indebted people helps address the needs of vulnerable groups and brings relief to their families.

General Zakat Authority Director of Media and Awareness Mohammed Al-Moushki and the authority's Amran branch director Mohammed Al-Shahrani remarked that the release of indebted prisoners through the Gharimin fund adds a humanitarian dimension to the celebrations and reflects the values of compassion and social solidarity associated with the Prophet's life.

The released prisoners expressed gratitude for the humanitarian initiative, noting that it provides them with a new opportunity to return to their families and resume their normal lives. A number of civil and security officials and representatives of the General Zakat Authority also attended the release.
