Sana'a: Acting Minister of Economy, Industry and Investment Sam al-Bishiri launched on Sunday 42 new electronic services on 'Tasheel' portal of the Yemen Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control Organization as part of efforts to expand digital transformation and improve commercial and regulatory services.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the launch ceremony, al-Bishiri received a briefing from the organization's Director Abdullah al-Atifi on the newly introduced services and procedures for accessing them. He noted that the additional services increase the total number of services available through the portal to 96.
Al-Bishiri praised the efforts of the organization's staff in implementing the new services and stressed the need to accelerate the transition toward fully automated procedures and comprehensive digital operations. He said the move would contribute to addressing procedural challenges, strengthening consumer protection, simplifying processes, and speeding up the completion of transactions.
The acting minister also emphasized the importance of continuously developing and expanding services provided through 'Tasheel' portal to support transparency, enhance oversight of goods and products, and ensure compliance with approved standards. He called for preparing an awareness plan targeting beneficiaries and introducing them to the portal's services and facilities, noting that wider use of the system would help accelerate cargo clearance procedures and stimulate commercial activity.
Al-Bishiri further directed the swift completion of the national quality strategy, along with efforts to expand infrastructure and modernize equipment to keep pace with rapid developments in production processes and technologies. He added that the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Investment and its affiliated bodies are working toward comprehensive digital transformation aimed at simplifying procedures and facilitating commercial and regulatory transactions in support of the national economy and private sector.
The newly launched services include sample reception, referral management, confirmation of sample receipt, sample coding, inspection and testing, conformity assessment, technical opinion services, sample tracking, electronic review, final approval and issuance, as well as an import control system and a trader application.
