Al-bayda: The General Authority for Zakat's office in Al-Bayda governorate held a speech event on Saturday to commemorate the Prophet Muhammad's birthday, emphasizing the importance of drawing lessons from his life and promoting his values and teachings.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Bayda governor Abdullah Idris highlighted the significance of commemorating the Prophet's birthday by reflecting on the life of Prophet Muhammad and translating his values and principles into daily life. He emphasized that the occasion offers an opportunity to strengthen people's attachment to the Prophet and emulate his morals and conduct. Idris also pointed out that the commemoration helps introduce younger generations to the Prophet's life and his message of guidance, mercy, justice, and noble human values.
Idris further stressed the importance of promoting social solidarity, compassion, and cooperation, urging the translation of prophetic values into practical behavior and community initiatives. He stated that commemorating the Prophet's birthday strengthens the religious identity of the Muslim nation and reinforces unity and solidarity, particularly amid challenges and plots targeting its identity and faith. The governor noted that the widespread public participation in the commemoration sends a strong message that Yemenis remain committed to the Prophet's path and will not allow their identity or beliefs to be undermined.
He described the occasion as an opportunity to promote adherence to the Holy Quran and the Prophet as a means of achieving what he characterized as the nation's progress and empowerment, urging broad participation in the central event scheduled to be held in the governorate capital on 12 Rabi' al-Awwal.
For his part, Director of the General Authority for Zakat Office in Al-Bayda, Haidar Al-Gharib, said commemorating the Prophet's birthday represents a strong response to those who consider observing the occasion a religious innovation. He highlighted the close relationship between the Yemeni people and the Prophet Muhammad, noting that the commemoration reflects that bond and the high regard the Prophet had for Yemenis.
Al-Gharib also reviewed aspects of the Prophet's life and his role in building the Muslim community, guiding it out of periods of ignorance, confusion, and misguidance, and the path he established for overcoming the challenges facing the nation. He mentioned that the General Authority for Zakat is preparing to implement a number of projects benefiting needy families, patients, and people burdened by debt in conjunction with the Prophet's birthday commemoration.
