Sanaa: The Al-Buniya Charity Kitchen was inaugurated in the Al-Tahrir District of the Capital Secretariat as part of a community initiative supported by philanthropists. The kitchen, operating for the ninth consecutive year under the 'Iftar for the Fasting' project, aims to provide iftar meals to 2,000 poor and needy families in the neighborhoods of Al-Tahrir District throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
According to Yemen News Agency, Deputy Mayor of the Capital Secretariat Abdul Latif Al-Omari, along with Assistant Deputy Mayors Ismail Al-Jarmouzi and Abdullah Rawiya, District Director Naji Al-Shayyani, and Mobilization Official Abdul Latif Al-Wali, attended the inauguration. They listened to a briefing from the kitchen's supervisor, Abdulrahman Al-Baili, about the activities of Al-Buniya Kitchen, contributing to charitable efforts during the holy month.
Officials highlighted the importance of such initiatives in promoting social solidarity and easing the burden on needy families, especially during Ramadan. They praised the significant efforts of those managing the kitchen, as well as the volunteers and donors involved in this initiative. The inauguration was also attended by Secretary-General of Al-Tahrir Local Council Mohammed Atef, Heads of the Planning and Social Affairs Committees Ali Abu Talib and Mohammed Nasser, and Director of Community Initiatives Abdullah Al-Ghail.
In a related context, officials from the Capital Secretariat and Al-Tahrir District leadership reviewed the activities of the Al-Ihsan Charity Kitchen in the Al-Kuwait neighborhood. Visitors received a briefing from neighborhood supervisor Saddam Al-Almani regarding the kitchen's year-round operations, supported by philanthropists. The Al-Ihsan Kitchen provides 300 meals regularly throughout the year, increasing to 600 meals during Ramadan for targeted families.
