Discussion of Needs of Social Care Homes, Inspection of Residents’ Conditions in Hodeidah

Hodeidah: A meeting in Hodeidah Governorate, chaired by Governor Abdullah Atifi, discussed today the needs of Dar Al-Salam Hospital for Mental Illnesses, and the homes for the elderly, juveniles, and orphans in the governorate.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included Deputy Governors for Services Affairs, Mohammed Haleesi, and for the City Sector, Ali Kabari, as well as Directors of the Office of Social Affairs and Labor, Abdulrahman Al-Sayegh, the Chamber of Commerce, Mohammed Al-Hatami, and the Office of the General Zakat Authority, Mohammed Hazza'. They reviewed ways to provide full care for the residents of these homes and meet their basic requirements.

Following the meeting, Governor Atifi, accompanied by the two Deputy Governors, the Directors of Social Affairs, the Chamber of Commerce, the Zakat Authority, and philanthropist Ali Al-Fadawi, inspected the conditions of residents at Dar Al-Salam Hospital and the homes for the elderly, juveniles, and orphans.

The Governor and his companions toured the sections and facilities of these homes, listening to explanations from those in charge about the most prominent operational and service needs, and the essential requirements related to each home individually.

During the visit, Governor Atifi affirmed the necessity of caring for these community groups and providing the necessary services to them, given their humanitarian situations and difficult circumstances, stressing the need to harness all available capabilities to support them.

He directed the Zakat Authority office and the Chamber of Commerce to promptly provide food supplies and Eid clothing, and to provide urgent aid including medical supplies, treatments, and cleaning materials, to contribute to improving the level of services provided to residents and alleviating their suffering.

Meanwhile, the Directors of the Social Affairs Office, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Zakat Authority pointed out the need for everyone to be aware of their religious and humanitarian responsibility towards these groups, affirming their commitment to providing the necessary support and meeting basic needs according to available capabilities.
