Amran: Education officials in Amran governorate held a comprehensive meeting to discuss preparations for the 1448 AH academic year, focusing on improving educational quality, strengthening school discipline, and enhancing administrative and teaching performance.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting brought together Head of the Education Sector in Amran, Abdulrahman Al-Imad, his deputy Saleh Al-Zarfani, directors of education offices from the governorate's districts, and heads of financial, administrative, and educational departments. Participants reviewed plans and objectives for the upcoming academic year aimed at strengthening school discipline and improving the quality of education. Discussions also focused on implementing cultural, religious, and educational programs for education sector personnel.
The meeting stressed the importance of early preparations for the new school year and efforts to advance the educational process through improved administrative and instructional performance in schools across the governorate. Attendees emphasized the need for coordinated efforts involving local authorities, community mobilization bodies, and relevant stakeholders. They called for the development of annual plans by education departments and district education offices to support the achievement of educational goals.
The discussions also addressed staffing requirements in schools, including the utilization of volunteer teachers and graduates of the Holy Quran Academy. Participants encouraged prospective educators to enroll in colleges of education and teacher-training institutes to help meet future workforce needs. In addition, officials stressed the importance of adhering to approved tuition fee regulations and enforcing legal measures against violations. They also highlighted the role of parent-teacher associations and community partnerships in supporting educational development.
The meeting called for the implementation of awareness campaigns on the importance of education in coordination with official institutions, community organizations, and mosque preachers to encourage enrollment and strengthen support for the educational process. Participants further emphasized the need to expand school, guidance, scouting, and creative activities, provide support for gifted students and the children of martyrs, and strengthen reading and writing skills among primary school students through specialized teacher training programs.
The meeting also discussed assessing schools' needs for maintenance, renovations, and expansions, as well as activating laboratories, learning resource centers, and computer facilities to improve the educational environment. Speaking during the meeting, Education Sector Head Abdulrahman Al-Imad stressed the importance of advancing educational outcomes and creating a suitable learning environment that helps prepare a qualified and capable generation able to contribute to society and national development.
