Balqis College Inaugurates Student Project Exhibition to Celebrate Prophet’s Birthday

Sana'a: Dr. Rajeh Al-Jarbaani, representing the higher education sector, inaugurated the annual exhibition of creative student projects at Balqis College for Health Sciences and Technology on Sunday. This event coincided with the 1448 AH anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday.

According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Al-Jarbaani was accompanied by Al-Dhale' undersecretary Hussein Wasel and Chairman of the College's Board of Directors Dr. Ghayyar Al-Yafai during the exhibition. They toured the various projects created by students from the Mechatronics, Renewable Energy, Information Technology, Midwifery, Pharmacy, Graphics, and Respiratory Care departments. The projects showcased innovative solutions that blend theoretical knowledge with practical applications, addressing contemporary social and industrial challenges.

The exhibition featured 26 projects from the Mechatronics Engineering and Renewable Energy departments. These included automated production lines using computer vision, robots for exploring hazardous areas and fighting fires, and smart prosthetic limbs with muscle-signal sensors for aiding individuals with disabilities. Additionally, there were systems focused on protection, monitoring, and remote control. Renewable energy initiatives emphasized sustainable solutions, such as dual-axis solar tracking stations, hybrid wind-and-solar systems for remote areas, and advancements in battery efficiency and energy storage.

Other departments, including Information Technology, Pharmacy, Midwifery, Respiratory Care, and Graphics, presented projects like applied research, smart applications, websites, e-commerce platforms, maternal and child health campaigns, respiratory support devices, anti-smoking campaigns, and digital awareness campaigns with 3D designs.

Dr. Al-Jarbaani commended the high level of preparation and organization of the exhibition, highlighting the students' creativity and capability in developing projects that meet real-world demands. He stressed the importance of aligning educational outcomes with labor-market needs and turning academic ideas into practical, marketable products.

The exhibition also included a commemorative event for the Prophet's birthday, attended by officials, community figures, faculty members, and students. Dr. Al-Jarbaani expressed that the celebration was an opportunity to revive the Prophet's Sunnah and adhere to his principles of justice, sacrifice, and altruism. Dr. Sanaa Al-Subaihi, Vice Chairwoman of the College's Board of Directors, emphasized the significance of religious occasions in strengthening faith and Islamic identity among students.

Cultural activist Mamdouh Al-Sabri highlighted the spiritual significance of commemorating the Prophet's birthday, describing it as an occasion to express joy, renew commitment to the righteous path, and encourage applying the Prophet's noble Sunnah in daily life.
