Capital sana'a: Capital Sana'a Tax Office and the Executive Unit for Qat Sales Tax have organized a speech event to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
According to Yemen News Agency, the event was attended by notable figures, including Province Undersecretary of Finance Aqeel Al-Mu'ayyad, Acting Chairman of the Tax and Customs Authority Dr. Ibrahim Mahdi, and his deputy Dr. Ahmed Shuraim. Capital Sana'a undersecretary Mayor Mazen Noman emphasized the significance of the commemoration, citing it as a reflection of Yemenis' deep attachment to the Prophet Muhammad and the values of guidance, mercy, solidarity, and benevolence found in his life.
Noman highlighted the Prophet's example of mercy and care for humanity, stating that recalling these values during his birthday strengthens social solidarity. He explained that the Prophet's message, which emphasized mercy as a foundation for human relations, linked faith with action and benevolence.
He further noted that the commemoration offers an opportunity for younger generations to learn about the Prophet's life, his positions, and the values of his message. Noman remarked that celebrating the occasion demonstrates a deep-rooted relationship with the Prophet and his family, a bond that has been part of Yemeni consciousness since the Islamic mission's inception.
Director General of the Executive Unit for Qat Sales Tax Ali Al-Houthi and Director General of the Amanat Al-Asimah Tax Office Ayed Nasser also addressed the gathering. Nasser stressed the importance of the occasion for drawing inspiration from the lessons and values of the Prophet's biography. He underscored the responsibility to support the Holy Qur'an and express outrage against insults and attacks on the sacred texts and the Prophet.
Nasser linked the commemoration to supporting the Qur'an, as the Prophet was its messenger. He said that celebrating his birth provides a chance to recall his Qur'anic approach and adhere to the values and principles he advocated.
He affirmed the Yemenis' deep connection with the Prophet, sent as a mercy to the worlds, highlighting the significance of commemorating his birthday as an opportunity to learn about his life and the guidance he provided for truth and justice.
Nasser also mentioned the ongoing challenges faced by Yemen, including the blockade and actions by the Saudi regime, which he claimed extend to serving foreign projects in the region. He reviewed aspects of the Prophet's life, calling for broad participation and mobilization for central events on 12 Rabi' al-Awwal.
Scholar Mohammed Al-Khazzan from the Association of Yemeni Scholars described the Prophet's birthday as a reaffirmation of Yemeni faith-based identity and their role in the Muslim nation. He emphasized the values of mercy, solidarity, and care for the vulnerable, inherent in the Muhammadan message.
The event concluded with the recognition of the Acting Chairman of the Authority for his efforts in improving tax and customs performance. Several outstanding employees were also honored for their diligence and contributions to their duties.
