Sana'a: Shu'ub District in the Capital Secretariat hosted on Wednesday a number of evening gatherings, seminars, and cultural and educational activities to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
According to Yemen News Agency, the celebrations were organized by residents of several neighborhoods, including Al-Madina Al-Siyahiya in Sawaan, Al-Marawen and Al-Nasr Mosque in Al-Nasr, Al-Ahmar in Eastern Al-Jarraf, Wa'ar Al-Ajam in Al-Hafa, Bir Al-Shawsh in Himyar, Habra and Al-Badawi in Al-Masnaa, Western Maseek in Al-Siyah, and Al-Sunidar in Al-Askari.
The gatherings reflected strong community participation and careful efforts by local leaders to ensure their success and proper organization. They featured diverse programs highlighting the significance of the occasion and the Prophet's revered status among the community.
The events were attended by Shura Council member Ahmed Al-Sharabi; Capital Secretariat First Undersecretary Khaled Al-Madani; Social Affairs Committee Chairman Hamoud Al-Naqeeb; Education and Youth Sector Undersecretary Mohammed Al-Banous; Shu'ub District Local Council Secretary-General Mohammed Al-Hadrami; district mobilization official Abdullah Al-Kawl and his deputy Dr. Abdul-Kafi Al-Shami; Tourist City Director Mohammed Al-Ashwal; as well as local and executive officials, neighborhood mobilization officials, sheikhs, and social figures.
Speakers emphasized that such activities contribute to raising community awareness of the importance of commemorating the Prophet's birthday, expressing joy over the birth of the best of creation, and reinforcing values of love and emulation of Prophet Muhammad.
They highlighted the Prophet's esteemed place in the hearts of Yemenis and their distinctive observance of the occasion, calling for broad participation in Mawlid activities and mobilization for the main celebration on 12 Rabi' al-Awwal.
The gatherings included poems and expressive performances reflecting feelings of joy and love for the Prophet.
Several cultural seminars were also held at mosques in Shu'ub District, addressing the status of Prophet Muhammad and the noble values and principles he established among Muslims, including dignity, honor, and virtuous conduct.
In the educational sector, numerous morning activities were organized at schools across Shu'ub District as part of preparations for commemorating the Prophet's birthday.
