Concluding 25th Free Eye Medical Camp in Al-Zahra District, Hodeida

Hodeida: The 25th free eye medical camp concluded on Friday in Al-Zahra District of Hodeida Governorate. The camp was organized by the Grameen Yemen Foundation, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health and Environment and its local office in the governorate.

According to Yemen News Agency, the camp provided examination and diagnostic services over five days for 1,000 cases from residents of Al-Ma'ras area and nearby regions. Camp director Nasser Al-Dabab reported that 395 surgical operations were performed to remove cataracts and implant intraocular lenses. Additionally, free medicines were distributed to the patients who benefited from the camp.

Al-Dabab highlighted that this initiative continues the efforts of 24 previous camps organized by the Grameen Yemen Medical Camps Center. These camps have collectively conducted more than 7,860 free cataract removal and lens implantation surgeries, assisting patients from the most vulnerable and low-income groups.
