Discussion, Approval of Curricula for Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity Programs at Lebanese University

Sana'a: A scientific workshop was held today in Sana'a to approve and define the curricula for two bachelor's programs: "Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems" and "Cybersecurity and Networks" at the Lebanese University.

According to Yemen News Agency, the workshop was organized by the university with the participation of a select group of academics, experts, and specialists from various Yemeni universities. The aim was to discuss, review, and develop study plans and academic syllabi for the two programs to meet the standards of academic accreditation and quality assurance, aligning with the requirements of the local and regional labor market.

In the opening session, the Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Hassan Al-Saadi, highlighted the significance of launching specialized programs to keep pace with the technological revolution. He emphasized the preparation of highly qualified Yemeni cadres capable of dealing with artificial intelligence technologies and protecting information infrastructure and digital security. He underlined the need to deepen understanding of computer science, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, networks, and their core concepts, especially in solving practical problems, assessing security risks, analyzing the threat landscape, and implementing effective response and protection strategies.

The Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Hatem Al-Da'ees, noted the importance of the workshop in discussing the detailed syllabi of the two programs, which have recently seen high demand. Despite the lack of tangible impact and expected outcomes in the job market, hundreds have graduated. He stressed the necessity of adding the university's distinctive touch to these programs in terms of training and practical application, ensuring that the graduates benefit the nation at large.

Meanwhile, the President of the University, Dr. Reda Hazima, affirmed the university's commitment to keeping up with developments and offering specialized programs that contribute to preparing qualified graduates in the fields of cybersecurity, network engineering, artificial intelligence, and intelligent systems. These graduates will possess technical expertise and practical capabilities to solve problems, design and protect flexible digital systems and networks, and manage them amid technological advancements. He also noted the university's dedication to providing academic education based on innovative projects, smart sciences, computer science, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, equipping students with knowledge and hands-on experience in design and analytical skills for solving technological problems.

The workshop, attended by university leadership, featured a detailed presentation of the learning outcomes and strategic directions for the two programs, followed by the distribution of participants into specialized working groups.
