Sana'a: The Ministry of Electricity, Energy, and Water commemorated on Tuesday the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him and his family) birth with a cultural and address-filled event.
According to Yemen News Agency, the event was attended by Member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Al-Nuaimi. In his speech, Minister of Electricity, Energy, and Water, Dr. Ali Saif, highlighted the importance of commemorating the birth of the Prophet, whom God sent as a mercy to humanity, a guide for mankind, and a leader in the struggle against tyranny, injustice, and corruption. He stressed that marking the occasion is not a mere ritual, but rather a renewal of loyalty and commitment to follow the Prophet's path of struggle against forces of disbelief, hypocrisy, and oppression in the past and present.
Dr. Saif stated: 'Today, as we confront the forces of tyranny - America, Israel, and their regional tools - we renew our commitment to steadfastness, resistance, and solidarity with our brothers in Gaza, who through their legendary resilience embody the highest meanings of sacrifice and heroism in confronting the Zionist, American, and Western project.' He added that Yemenis have historically stood by the Prophet since the dawn of the divine message, supporting his call and fighting in the cause of God. Today, they continue along the same path under the leadership of the revolutionary leader, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, in confronting aggression and blockade.
The Minister emphasized that preserving the spirit of struggle and high morale is the only guarantee of the nation's dignity and freedom, affirming that the ministry, despite the hardships of war and siege, strives to embody the Prophet's values by serving the people, alleviating their suffering, and intensifying charitable work, particularly in supporting families of martyrs, the wounded, the poor, and displaced persons. He also pointed to the ministry's commitment to mobilization for 'Al-Aqsa Flood' programs, as well as its firm stance alongside the free peoples of the nation against normalization and domination, in line with the directives of the revolutionary and political leadership.
Dr. Saif reviewed the destruction inflicted on the electricity, energy, and water sectors over the years of U.S.-Saudi-Emirati aggression, including repeated targeting of power plants, facilities, and infrastructure in an attempt to plunge Yemen into darkness. He praised the resilience of sector employees who continued to operate stations, restore electricity and water lines, and maintain services under extreme danger, describing it as a shining example of sacrifice and dedication. He noted that renewed aggression has sought to extinguish what remains of Yemen's infrastructure, particularly through Israeli targeting, but these attempts have failed thanks to the determination and faith of the Yemeni people and the commitment of national cadres to keep electricity and water as lifelines for the nation.
The Minister saluted the engineers and technical staff across the country, urging continued dedication inspired by the Prophet's school of sacrifice, steadfastness, and patience until Yemen achieves victory, restores its rights, and rebuilds its services stronger than before. He further called on all ministry employees to participate widely in the 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal commemorations.
Deputy Minister Adel Bader, Electricity Sector Undersecretary Eng. Ahmed Al-Mutawakkil, and President of the General Corporation for Electrical Industries Abdulghani Al-Madani attended the event. Eng. Abduljabbar Al-Shami, Chairman of the Rural Electricity Authority, described the commemoration as a spiritual and educational milestone to draw from the Prophet's blessed legacy. Al-Shami noted that Yemen has been targeted by hegemonic powers since the occupation of Palestine in 1948, yet has always resisted and stood against U.S., Israeli, and British schemes, defeating them in various arenas despite war and blockade over the past decade. He called for a sincere return to the Qur'an and the Prophet's example as sources of inspiration for sacrifice, patience, and courage in confronting current challenges.
For his part, Dr. Qais Al-Tal, Head of the Guidance Sector in the Capital Secretariat, said that holding such celebrations provokes the enemies of Islam, including hypocrites, Jews, Christians, and their allies. He congratulated the ministry's leadership for restoring electricity to streets and neighborhoods in Sana'a and other governorates ahead of the Prophet's birthday, describing it as another example of Yemeni resilience in the face of U.S.-Israeli aggression. Al-Tal stressed that commemorating the Prophet's birth reflects the deep reverence and love Yemenis hold for him, citing Qur'anic verses that place love for God and His Messenger above all worldly attachments. He emphasized Yemenis' commitment to living by the Prophet's example in word and deed, supporting the oppressed, and resisting the enemies of God.
He condemned ongoing Israeli crimes in Gaza and Palestine, committed with U.S. support, and denounced Arab and international silence in the face of such atrocities. He affirmed that under the leadership of Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, Yemen continues to stand firmly with the Palestinian people, supporting Gaza politically, militarily, and morally, while rejecting normalization and confronting the schemes of Zionist-American domination.
