Gold Prices Rise as Dollar Declines Due to Tariff Cancellation

New york: Gold rose to its highest level in more than three weeks today, Monday, as the dollar declined after the U.S. Supreme Court on Friday canceled a large part of the tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump. Spot gold rose by 1.2 percent to $5163.60 per ounce, recording its highest level in more than three weeks. According to Yemen News Agency, U.S. gold futures for delivery next April increased by two percent to $5184.90. The dollar declined after traders considered the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to cancel most of the tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump as support for global growth. As for other precious metals, silver in spot transactions rose 3.1 percent to $87.10 per ounce, its highest level in more than two weeks. Platinum in spot transactions rose 1.2 percent to $2182.60 per ounce, while palladium increased 0.5 percent to $1753.75.
