Human Rights Commission Condemns Saudi Attacks on Civilians in Hajjah

Hajjah:The National Human Rights Commission has strongly condemned the recent attack by Saudi Arabia on a civilian home in the village of Umm Al-Duhai, located in the Harad district of Hajjah province. This attack resulted in the tragic death of a father, mother, and four children aged between three and eight, while a six-year-old girl sustained injuries.

According to Yemen News Agency, the commission also denounced a Saudi airstrike in the Salah District of Taiz province, which injured one child and two adults.

The commission's statement described the deliberate targeting of a civilian home, which included women and children, as a grave violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions, which prohibit attacks on civilians and civilian structures.

It further criticized the repeated targeting of children in Harad and other areas, suggesting it reflects Saudi Arabia's retaliatory mindset. The statement accused the Saudi regime of targeting children in schools and homes following battlefield failures.

The commission questioned the silence of the UN Security Council, the Human Rights Council, and the international community regarding these actions, suggesting their inaction gives Saudi Arabia a green light to continue its attacks on Yemeni children.

The statement concluded by holding the Saudi regime fully responsible for these crimes.
