Ibb’s Parks, Gardens Receive 60,000 Visitors During Eid al-Adha

Sanaa: Public and private parks, gardens, and tourist sites in Ibb province received 60,000 visitors during the six days of the blessed Eid al-Adha, marking an increase of over 40% compared to the same period last year (1446 AH). According to Yemen News Agency, the head of the tourism sector in the province, Ghanem Ausaj, highlighted that the increasing turnout, despite rainfall during Eid days, reflects the growing status of Ibb province on the domestic tourism map and demonstrates its presence as a major tourist destination attracting visitors from various provinces.

He attributed the rise in visitor numbers to the province's unique tourism and natural features, such as moderate climate, stunning nature, perennial waterfalls, historical and archaeological fortresses, and castles. Additionally, the continuous improvement in service levels and infrastructure development of tourist facilities contributed to this surge in visitors.

Ausaj noted ongoing rehabilitation, development, and expansion work in several parks, resorts, and tourist facilities to enhance service quality, meet visitors' needs throughout the year, and strengthen the province's attractiveness as a promising tourism and investment destination. He emphasized efforts made before the Eid holiday, including inspection and awareness campaigns and extensive organizational arrangements, which positively impacted service quality and visitor safety at tourist sites.

He considered the growing influx of visitors as evidence of Ibb province's exceptional tourism and investment potential, urging efforts to transform the tourism sector into an economic and developmental driver that boosts job creation and revives local investment and development. The tourism sector head praised the support from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the local authority in enhancing tourism services and attracting visitors and investors.

Furthermore, Ausaj acknowledged the cooperation of the Environmental Health Department, Traffic Police, Rescue Police, and relevant authorities in ensuring successful pre-Eid season arrangements and a safe atmosphere for visitors. He called on businessmen and investors to seize investment opportunities in the province's tourism sector.

Waleed Obaid, Director of the Environmental Health Department, reported that a joint inspection campaign targeted tourist facilities to verify compliance with health and environmental standards, which enhanced safety and service levels during the holiday. Visitors expressed satisfaction with the organization and services during Eid, attributing the increase in visits to Ibb's security, stability, and captivating nature.
