Bayda: Governor Abdullah Idriss met today with the Head of Operations of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Yemen, Faria Radhi, to discuss the ICRC's interventions in the governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included the Director of the Health and Environment Office in the governorate, Dr. Mujahid Al Khatri, and the Advisor to the Head of the ICRC Sub-Delegation in Yemen, Faris Al Bashari. They reviewed the governorate's needs for priority projects in the development, service, and humanitarian sectors, as well as the ICRC's interventions in this regard.
The participants discussed measures to strengthen the partnership between local authorities and the ICRC to implement priority projects in health, water, sanitation, environmental hygiene, agriculture, Red Crescent societies, and displaced persons.
They also addressed ongoing interventions at Al Wahda Hospital in Dhi Na'im District, Al Thawra General Hospital in Al Bayda, and Rada'a Central Hospital aimed at enhancing services provided to citizens.
Governor Idriss highlighted the importance of working according to a clear vision of needs and priorities in various sectors. He urged the need for ICRC field visits to identify critical needs and support efforts to encourage humanitarian organizations to expand their activities in Bayda, which lacks interventions from international organizations present in other governorates.
He praised the efforts of the Red Cross delegation in implementing health programs, assuring the local authorities' commitment to overcoming any difficulties faced by humanitarian organizations' activities and programs.
Faria Radhi, the head of ICRC operations in Yemen, affirmed the ICRC's commitment to supporting development and humanitarian projects in Bayda Governorate. This support aims to improve services for citizens and address their urgent needs.
