Al-safiya: The Education Sector, the Al-Safiya Multi-Purpose Cooperative Association, and the Knights of Development in Al-Safiya District, Capital Secretariat, launched today the agricultural awareness activities program in all schools of the district. During the launch, attended by the Advisor to the Minister of Interior, Major General Abdulkarim Al-Marouni, the Directors of Al-Safiya Education Abdullah Al-Ma'akhi and Neighborhood Affairs Hamza Al-Ansi, the Head of the Al-Safiya Cooperative Association Abdulsalam Al-Bahlouli, and educational and agricultural leaders, association members, and the Knights of Development, participants and students planted tree seedlings in a number of school yards.
According to Yemen News Agency, awareness lectures were delivered to students on the importance of agriculture, its preservation, its objectives, and its role in supporting economic development, achieving food security and self-sufficiency, and raising students' awareness of ways to maintain the sustainability of agriculture and green spaces in schools.
The program aims to plant and green the available spaces in the district's schools, and to plant fruit and forest tree seedlings, as part of the cultural and skills program activities for male and female students, implemented by the Education Sector in the Capital Secretariat in cooperation with the Agriculture Sector in the Secretariat.
The speeches emphasized the importance of implementing agricultural initiatives in and around schools, contributing to expanding green spaces, improving the school environment, and enhancing awareness of the importance of agriculture and preserving vegetation cover, in addition to embodying the values of charity and giving.
