Meteorology Forecasts More Monsoon Rains in Coming Hours

Sana'a: The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has forecasted more monsoon rains of varying intensity, scattered over parts of several governorates during the next 24 hours.

According to Yemen News Agency, the weather bulletin issued by the center indicates that rains of moderate to heavy intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms, are expected over parts of the governorates of Saada, Hajjah, Al Mahweet, Amran, Sana'a, Raymah, Dhamar, Ibb, Taiz, and the Tihama Plain.

The forecast also mentions the likelihood of scattered rains, sometimes accompanied by thunder, over parts of Al Dhale'a and the highlands of Lahj and Abyan. Citizens have been warned about the possibility of flash floods in ravines and valleys, advising them to avoid being present in these areas or crossing them during and after rainfall.

The center has further cautioned about thunderstorms and advised against being near electricity poles and tall trees. Additional warnings include the potential for rockfalls, mudslides, and reduced horizontal visibility on roads and mountain slopes due to rainfall and fog formation.
