Sana'a: The Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Hassan Al-Saadi, was briefed on the progress of educational and academic performance at the 21 September University for Medical Sciences and Technology in Sana'a. This briefing took place during an event honoring the colleges that have achieved national academic accreditation and the launch of student activities celebrating the Prophet's birthday.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Minister congratulated the university on obtaining accreditation for programs in medical administration, laboratory medicine, higher nursing, and clinical pharmacy. He acknowledged the university's achievements despite challenging conditions and encouraged ongoing excellence and academic advancement.
The President of the University, Dr. Mujahid Maasar, along with his deputies, expressed their commitment to completing accreditation standards for other programs and pursuing international accreditation. They also celebrated the graduates of the first batch from the Faculty of Medicine, who secured competitive positions in the Yemeni Council for Medical Specialties.
During the inspection visit, the Minister, his Deputy, and the Chairman of the Academic Accreditation Council observed the university's developments over the past five years. The institution expanded from five faculties to nine, increased its academic programs from five to 20 bachelor's programs and six diplomas, and launched master's and doctoral programs. Additionally, the faculty member count rose to over 400, and a complex of consulting clinics was opened to serve the community.
