Parliament Speaker Meets Acting Prime Minister Allama Muftah to Discuss National and Regional Developments

Sanaa: Speaker of the House of Representatives Yahya Ali Al-Ra'i met on Sunday with Acting Prime Minister Allama Mohammed Muftah to discuss national, regional, and international developments. The meeting was attended by Minister of Oil and Minerals Dr. Abdullah Al-Amir and several parliament members.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Speaker emphasized the importance of coordination between legislative and executive branches to address challenges and unify efforts. Al-Ra'i highlighted Yemen's resilience against the U.S.-Saudi-UAE aggression coalition and stressed the need for collective cooperation to confront external threats to Yemen's unity and resources.

During the meeting, Al-Ra'i expressed concerns over a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Geological Survey and the 'mercenary government,' calling for measures to protect Yemen's resources. He urged the Government of Change and Construction to implement deterrent measures against unauthorized authorities and violations of Yemeni sovereignty.

The Speaker also underscored the need for technical and legislative frameworks to safeguard Yemen's mineral wealth and praised governmental efforts amidst challenging circumstances. He called for draft laws and amendments that align with modernization, emphasizing public awareness against threats to Yemen's sovereignty.

Acting Prime Minister Muftah commended the parliament's stance against the memorandum of understanding and its efforts to protect Yemen's unity. He highlighted media contributions in countering false allegations and stressed the importance of adhering to parliamentary recommendations.

The meeting addressed legal amendments for the current phase and government measures to mitigate the impact of aggression and blockade. Participants declared the memorandum of understanding illegal, affirming Yemen's control over its geological data.

Muftah outlined government initiatives in infrastructure rehabilitation, emergency response to war repercussions, and local industry localization. He detailed strategies for energy production and agriculture to achieve self-sufficiency and attract national investment.

The Speaker reaffirmed parliament's support for the Government of Change and Construction, particularly in legal reforms accompanying its programs. Minister Al-Amir updated on the ministry's actions regarding the memorandum and efforts to stabilize fuel supplies and prices despite ongoing conflict repercussions.
