Sana’a Mayor Inspects Emergency Road Maintenance in Shu’ub District

Sana'a: Mayor Dr. Hamoud Abbad inspected the progress of emergency asphalt maintenance and rehabilitation works in Shu'ub District, funded locally. The visit focused on the repair of potholes and damaged road sections on Dhahr Himyar neighborhood street, in front of the post office, covering an area of 300 square meters. The works are conducted by teams from the Executive Unit for the Construction and Maintenance of Roads and Public Places.

According to Yemen News Agency, Mayor Abbad explained that these efforts are part of an emergency routine maintenance project targeting damaged main and secondary roads across the districts, with a total funding of 516 million Yemeni riyals from the local authority. He emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts, accelerating work pace, and continuing emergency asphalt repairs to preserve roads, improve streets, and facilitate traffic movement. The Mayor also commended the technical teams of the Executive Unit for their work in road maintenance and rehabilitation.

Engineer Ammar Al-Zindani, Director of the Maintenance Project at the Executive Unit, reported that the emergency maintenance project is 92 percent complete. He confirmed that three technical teams are working daily to repair and fill potholes on the targeted roads.
