Sana’a Meeting Discusses Promoting Investment Opportunities in Energy Sector

Sana'a: A meeting in Sana'a on Monday, bringing together Acting Minister of Economy, Industry and Investment Sam Al-Bashiri and Deputy Minister of Electricity, Energy and Water Adel Bader, discussed mechanisms for promoting investment opportunities in the energy sector.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, attended by Sana'a Capital Secretariat Secretary-General Amin Jomaan and Deputy Chairman of the Capital Secretariat Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mohammed Salah, reviewed investment opportunities, particularly in renewable energy, as part of the Ministry of Electricity's plan to engage the private sector through the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model.

Al-Bashiri and Bader stressed the importance of investing in the energy sector as a promising economic field that can meet citizens' needs and support economic activity. They affirmed that the Government of Change and Building would provide full support and incentives for energy investments, highlighting the advantages and guarantees offered under the Investment Law.

Jomaan expressed the local authority's readiness to facilitate implementation of the project in the Capital Secretariat as a first phase, emphasizing the sector's role in driving local development. Mohammed Salah reaffirmed the private sector's commitment to mobilizing investment and providing the necessary support, describing it as a key partner in national development and economic growth.

The meeting approved holding a joint workshop involving the Ministries of Economy, Electricity, and the Capital Secretariat Chamber of Commerce and Industry to introduce energy investment opportunities, explain the incentives, guarantees, and BOT contract framework prepared and approved by the relevant authorities.
