Sana'a: The Office of Economy, Industry, and Investment in Abs District, Hajjah Governorate, in collaboration with the Public Prosecution, security agencies, and the agriculture sector, has seized quantities of expired agricultural pesticides. These materials were found in the home and warehouse of a local merchant in the district.
According to Yemen News Agency, Mahmoud Wahban, Director of the Economy Office in the governorate, confirmed that the confiscated pesticides were expired and spoiled. The authorities have secured the materials and are in the process of counting them. Wahban urged citizens to cooperate with oversight committees in the districts and report any violations.
Fahmi Murad, Director of the district branch, provided further details about the operation. Inspection teams discovered a workshop equipped with printers, packaging machines, and date-altering tools. The workshop was being used to empty expired pesticides into new containers, which were then repackaged and stamped with forged production dates under a variety of brand names, encompassing up to 40 different products.
