Sana'a: Today, the Supreme Committee for Elections and Referendums organized a speech event to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Zaid bin Ali, peace be upon them. At the event, which was attended by a number of the committee's leadership, the Secretary-General of the Supreme Elections Committee, Muhammad Al-Jalal, highlighted the importance of commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Zaid, emphasizing the lessons to be learned from his resistance against tyrants and oppressors.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Jalal described the Imam Zaid project as a renaissance initiative that opposed false beliefs and deviant ideas that had infiltrated Islam during that era. He remarked that Imam Zaid exemplified the jihadi movement, a model that should be followed today to confront the forces of global arrogance and tyranny.
Al-Jalal elaborated on the scholarly biography of Imam Zaid, focusing on his jihadist endeavors, his significance in Islamic history, and the need to emulate his commitment to principles and values, particularly in supporting the oppressed and challenging tyrants. He condemned the Saudi aggression's targeting of Sana'a International Airport and the attempted interception of a plane carrying a Yemeni delegation to the funeral of the nation's martyr, Mr. Ali Khamenei.
The Secretary-General praised the Yemeni response to Abha International Airport, urging the Saudi enemy to reconsider its actions by halting aggression, lifting the siege, and removing bans on airports and ports.
Judge Ali Al-Samit, a member of the Supreme Elections Committee, emphasized the importance of drawing inspiration from Imam Zaid's courage and sacrifices. Meanwhile, Hadiya Al-Daghbashi, Director General of the Committee's Women's Department, explained that building awareness is a crucial weapon with which Imam Zaid confronted tyranny, advocating for the use of awareness to counter false ideas and alien cultures.
Ali Al-Faqih, speaking on behalf of the committee's cadres, expressed that commemorating Imam Zaid's martyrdom is vital for invoking his revolutionary spirit in fighting injustice and supporting the nation's causes. He called for broad action against systematic targeting campaigns against Islam and Muslims.
The event, attended by administrative leaders, general managers, employees, and technical staff, featured a reportage presentation on Imam Zaid's life and a poem highlighting his virtues and qualities.
